Summary
GeneratedDirective 70/457/EEC requires each member state to maintain a national catalogue of officially accepted varieties of beet, fodder plant, cereal, potato and oil and fibre plants, on which the EU common catalogue is compiled. Varieties must be distinct, stable, sufficiently uniform and of satisfactory value for cultivation and use. Member states had to transpose by 1 July 1972.
