Temporary exceptional crisis distillation measure to address the market disturbance in the wine sector in Germany in the marketing year 2026/2027

The Commission has proposed a temporary exceptional crisis distillation measure for the German wine sector in marketing year 2026/2027. It responds to market disturbance by allowing surplus wine to be distilled, easing pressure on prices and stocks. The measure targets German wine producers and distillers. It is at Commission proposal stage and has not yet been adopted.
