Summary
GeneratedRegulation (EU) 2024/1157 governs waste shipments within, into, and out of the EU, replacing the 2006 regime. It applies from 21 May 2026, with some provisions phased in through 2027. It affects waste producers, notifiers, carriers, and competent authorities, tightening controls on exports to non-OECD countries and banning plastic waste exports. The regulation is in force.
