Regulation (EU) 2019/1242 sets CO2 emission performance standards for new heavy-duty vehicles, covering categories M2, M3, N1-N3, O3 and O4. Targets: 15% reduction by 2025-2029, 45% by 2030-2034, 65% by 2035-2039, and 90% from 2040, versus 2019 levels. Urban buses must be 90% zero-emission by 2030 and 100% by 2035. In force, amended through 2026.
