Directive 2005/44/EC, as amended, sets the framework for harmonized river information services (RIS) on TEN-T inland waterways and ports. It obliges Member States to deploy RIS, including electronic charts, ship reporting, and a European RIS Environment, with interfaces to other transport modes.
