Summary
GeneratedDirective 2001/89/EC sets minimum EU measures against classical swine fever in pigs and feral pigs. Member States had to transpose it by 31 October 2002 and apply it from 1 November 2002. It requires immediate notification, killing of pigs on infected holdings, 3 km protection and 10 km surveillance zones, and bans on feeding catering waste to pigs.
