GeneratedCouncil Regulation (EC) No 659/1999 codifies the procedural rules for applying Article 93 of the EC Treaty to State aid. It requires Member States to notify new aid and bars implementation before Commission authorization, sets a two-month preliminary examination, and empowers the Commission to order suspension and recovery of unlawful aid. It entered into force 20 days after publication in 1999.
