Summary
GeneratedDirective 2000/26/EC requires insurers covering motor third-party liability to appoint a claims representative in every other Member State, and gives injured parties a direct right of action. Member States had to apply national measures by 20 January 2003. It also mandates information centres and compensation bodies for cross-border claims. The act is in force.
