GeneratedDirective 97/78/EC sets the principles for veterinary checks on products entering the Community from third countries. Consignments must pass through an approved border inspection post for documentary, identity and physical checks. Member States had to apply national implementing provisions from 1 July 1999. It repealed Directive 90/675/EEC from 30 June 1999.
