Summary
GeneratedDirective 98/83/EC sets health-based parametric values for water intended for human consumption, covering tap, tanker, bottled and food-industry water. Member States had to comply within five years of entry into force and transpose within two years. It requires monitoring, remedial action and consumer information, and exempts natural mineral and medicinal waters.
