GeneratedDirective 93/43/EEC sets general food hygiene rules covering preparation, processing, packaging, storage, transport and sale, and requires food business operators to apply HACCP principles. Member States had to transpose it within 30 months of adoption. National authorities control compliance under Directive 89/397/EEC. It is in force.
