GeneratedDirective 89/437/EEC sets hygiene and health requirements for producing and marketing egg products for human consumption or food manufacturing. It covers approved establishments, treatment, microbiological and residue checks, packaging, storage, transport and marking. Member States had to transpose it by 31 December 1991. It excludes small-scale and direct-sale production.
