GeneratedDirective 85/611/EEC sets common rules for open-ended undertakings for collective investment in transferable securities (UCITS) that raise capital from the public and redeem units at holder request. It covers authorization, depositaries, investment limits, prospectuses and cross-border marketing. Member States had to comply by 1 October 1989, with Greece and Portugal allowed until 1 April 1992.
