By applying variable speed reduction to a pump, it can be set to a lower speed. A lower speed means lower energy consumption. Furthermore, the pump experiences less wear and tear, thus lowering maintenance costs. The directly achievable energy savings amount to several tens of percent per pump. This is a well-known practice worldwide.
