Regional aid maps 2028

53 submissions from 53 organizations told the European Commission what they think about this file. Here is what each of them said, in their own words.

The Commission lists 80 submissions on this file. Shown here: the 53 from organizations. Not shown, by design: submissions from private individuals, which we never publish, and anything filed since our last weekly refresh.

Who showed up

16 submissions from industry — companies and their trade associations — against 2 from civil society: NGOs, consumer organizations, environmental groups and trade unions. That is 8 industry submissions for every one from civil society.

Industry 16Civil society 2Public authorities, academia, other 35

Groupings use the respondent type each organization selected when filing. Counting submissions, not organizations — a body that filed twice is counted twice.

Our outermost regions are the subject of special recognition within the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. This recognition is based on the fact that regional realities are immutable due to their intrinsic nature and the geographical nature of these territories. That is why I fully support, as part of my organisation, the note that you will find attached, defended by EURODOM.

Opinion on the Guidelines for the regional aid map 20282034 1. Operational context: Business in the ruins of the Community Conducting business on the EU’s border lane today is radically different from operating in stable regions of Western Europe. As local entrepreneurs, we face: the immediate neighbourhood of politically unstable areas, location at the Union’s external ruin, permanently elevated investment risks.

The provisions of Article 107(a) Article 3(a) of the TFEU states that areas are those where the standard of living is abnormally low or where there is serious underemployment. In this context, we draw attention to the great internal variability of the Śląskie voivodship, where individual sub-regions develop unevenly.

The ratio of GDP per capita to the EU average is an appropriate and well-established baseline indicator for determining the level of development of regions and their eligibility for regional aid. It ensures that funding is primarily directed toward the most disadvantaged regions, while also providing a transparent and comparable framework for classification.

Method. Every quote is verbatim from the organization’s own submission to the European Commission, trimmed to its opening passage and never summarized by a model. Where a submission was filed in another EU language we show the English text the European Commission publishes alongside it, labeled on the quote; the original is one click away at the source. Groupings use the respondent type the organization itself selected when filing. We deliberately do not label anyone “supportive” or “opposed” — you read what they wrote and draw your own conclusion. Organizations only, never individuals. Reused under Commission Decision 2011/833/EU; the European Commission is not liable for this reuse.
