These data is widely used by trade unions, companies, NGOs, auditors, and governments to support fair wage-setting, social dialogue, and responsible business conduct.

The present document contains input from the association of the European Heating Industry (EHI) to the call for evidence on the Quality Jobs Roadmap. High-quality jobs in research and innovation are essential to Europes justice, equality, and competitiveness agendas. Yet many researchers face precarious contracts, gender and intersectional inequalities, regional disparities, and poor working conditions.

The organization of the workforce is also one of the biggest challenges in the landscape garden sector throughout Europe. Companies in our sector, mainly small and medium sized, create and maintain the green and nature-based solutions that add to a better living climate, biodiversity and public health.

The construction sector is at the heart of Europes green and digital transitions, yet it faces challenges such as labour and skills shortages, ageing demographics and lack of attractiveness. EBC stresses the need for a realistic, flexible, and sector-sensitive approach for the Quality Jobs Roadmap.

Only 43% of Europes Roma are in paid work, and most of those are trapped in precarious, low-paid, low-prestige, and low-skilled jobs. A Job Quality Roadmap has the potential to serve as a transformative tool for Roma inclusion and equality, but only if it moves beyond the current framing, which only prioritises competitiveness and labour market needs.

As the EUs largest network of reuse, repair, and recycling social enterprises, RREUSE welcomes the proposed Quality Jobs Roadmap. The European and International Booksellers Federation (EIBF) is the voice of booksellers in the European Union and globally. EIBFs members are national Booksellers Associations, who represent all kinds of book retailers, a majority being small and medium-sized independent and family-owned bookshops.

The Quality Jobs Roadmap must address the challenges of an ageing workforce. As highlighted by the AGE Barometer 2023, older workers face persistent barriers like ageism, limited training access, and unsuitable workplaces. Despite demographic shifts, they remain underrepresented in employment policies, with older womens employment rates as low as 40% in some EU countries.

We welcome the roadmaps emphasis on job creation, incentives to work, and labour market dynamism. But for the initiative to deliver real impact, it must also address Europes structural weaknesses in particular, low productivity, persistent skills shortages, and declining competitiveness. These factors are critical to reversing stagnation and enabling long-term, sustainable job creation.
